Piano~The wide smile spreads seven octaves
From the high C to the low A
It's beckoning grin, it pulls you in
And you can't help but play.

You hear beautiful solos,
Inspiring melodies
You want to scribble them down before you forget
But alas you can't read (music).

The dotted paper means nothing to you
The quavers, semi-tones, crotchets, it's all names
When you look at the music sheets
You don't hear the different notes,
It all just looks the same!

There's a piece you want to learn
And you make it your goal

It's only when you begin to play,
That the complexity takes its toll.
